Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She's an American-Mexican actress. Also, she sings. She was raised by her mother in the USA. Raised with racial taunts and felt unloved. It was during her ninth grade when she began to gain confidence after being highly praised during an audition. This not only increased the confidence of her, but altered the direction of her career. She graduated at the age of 22 with a degree from Julliard School in New York. When she was 23, her first Broadway appearance in Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her film debut You've Got Mail were both her big break. The role of The Lady of The Lake was her biggest success, and earned an award for her performance, the Tony Award in addition to critical acclaim for her performance. Later in the same year she appeared on the ABC program Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. A well-known performer, she has also released both songs and plays. Also, she's spoken out in support of LGBT issues.
